Tummy tuck

Tummy Tuck

Sometimes neither sport nor dieting can combat excess fat deposits. Liposuction is often a solution – though not in every case. The necessary elasticity is lacking, and the skin is unable to tighten itself sufficiently after liposuction. This may be due to a lack of exercise and sport as well as to genetic weaknesses of the fascia. After losing a lot of weight in a short period of time or several pregnancies, the fascia and skin aren’t able to readjust and start to look saggy and loose.

These unwanted side effects of weight loss rapidly impact your self-esteem. Those affected will not go to the public swimming pool, and often complain of a restricted sex life.
A tummy tuck can resolve both dilemmas: it can both ease the mental suffering and optimise the shape of your abdomen.

A tummy tuck is one of the most elaborate and stressful cosmetic surgeries, and requires intensive preparation and aftercare. You should have slimmed down to your desired weight that you can easily maintain before undergoing the procedure.

Overview of the procedure

Pre-operative check-up

The pre-operative check-up complies with the European standard requirements within the framework of preparation for an anaesthetic.
Click here to download the protocol for the clinical report. Please print out a copy and bring it along with you to your local doctor, an internal specialist, who can enter the results of your haemogram, etc. The clinical report must not be older than 2 weeks.

The pre-operative check-up can be completely performed in the Czech Republic.

Possibility of aftercare

The abdominal skin and the adipose tissue will be detached from the musculature up to the rib cage. The skin will then be pulled down and shortened until smooth.
The surgeon will cut around the navel so that it can be reattached in its new position. The straight abdominal muscles can also be tightened if necessary.

The surgeon will place very fine drains to remove excess fluid before closing up the wound completely. These drains will be removed after 2-3 days.
Immediately after surgery, a compression bandage will be applied.

1. Horizontal incision from one iliac crest to the other.
2. W-shaped incision from one iliac crest to the other.
3. Anchor-shaped incision from one iliac crest to the other.

Use of the UltraCision Harmonic Scapel® for an extremely precise preparation of the tissue. This technology minimises the general surgery risks and allows faster recovery, enabling optimal results.
